Six years of polaroids...

I was beyond happy to receive this piece of perfection in my inbox yesterday from photographer Jami Saunders. Get this – she shot one polaroid everyday for SIX years (yes, YEARS!) and made this beautiful 2 minute movie set to the music from Amelie. In her words, “... I wanted the movie to feel like you were on your bike, riding it around New York City...here are some of the sites, sounds, and inspirations I've had”.

Turn up the sound and take some time to watch this (it's a wee bit small here, so check it out at full size on the Vimeo site here). I love what Jami has to say as she takes you along her journey... her six year journey, to be exact.

PS: I love photographers – what an amazing blessing it must be to capture life’s moments in such extraordinary ways.

La Terraza del Casino

"An interiors project by Jaime Hayon that explores the balance of an aesthetic link between past and future using his very personal style that connects harmoniously with the imaginative and innovative kitchen of La Terraza del Casino chef Paco Roncero." (Holy long sentence!) Wow. Just wow. This place is one part South Beach Luxe Hotel, one part Alice in Wonderland. I kind of expect to see a giant white rabbit, pocketwatch in hand, sippin' some Earl Grey in the corner...

ID Branding

This is one of my favorite design systems of all time - the identity for branding agency ID Branding in Portland, Oregon. They're the masterminds behind the perfectly drool-worthy Lovejoy Vodka packaging (last photo below). On a side note, when I saw the Lovejoy packaging for the first time way back when, I almost fell off my seat the designs were so beautiful. Seriously, I wanted to HUG all five bottles... maybe even a kiss or two. Anyway, I digress...

Working with a variation of 6 different logos, employees were asked to relate their own personal "identity" to their business cards. No two are the same, yet there's a distinct and cohesive look and feel to it all. The result is not only eye-catching, but really reflects the unique culture of this highly creative design firm. Love it. Read more here.

Love this!

Just saw this beyond pretty card by Sugar Paper on Nole's blog, Beautiful Paper. The lovely Nole is at NSS (National Stationery Show) this week, and she's been kind enough to post photos of some of the new paper goods debuting at this year's show. Definitely stop by if you haven't already. Mmm, where was I?? Oh yea, I really, really am in love with this card! Trés chic, magnifique - that's the extent of my French... unfortunately.

La Petite matches

Why, oh why, are these so darn beautiful?? I love how the tiny matchbox is made of wood... everything is so delicate, even the label aged perfectly.

(PS: I'm baaaaack! I was contemplating inserting a photo of the Poltergeist girl here, but then i thought maybe that was a bit much... )
